Erin & Ryan | Elopement

After talking for weeks over the phone and internet, Erin and Ryan met for the first time, face-to-face, at a graveyard in Mountain Grove, MO. Erin told me, "You know, I probably should have thought it was a red flag that the first place he wanted to meet me was at a graveyard in the middle of nowhere, but I didn't!"
Months later, while running an errand at Ryan's storage unit, it hit him that he was totally in love with Erin and could easily spend the rest of his life with her.
The more we talked about it, the more it made sense for us to shoot a few of their wedding portraits in a local, historical graveyard and a storage facility. We thought it would be a great way to accurately tell their story in a meaningful way!
When I met Erin on my very first day of College, trying to find our class, I never ever thought I would be photographing her very intimate elopement or that Ethan and I would be signing their marriage license. What a true honor it was to accompany these two on their adventure.

The Elopement

Our morning began on Friday June 13th, with tattoos at Eternal Tattoo. Ryan and Erin, each tattooed 13 in roman numerals on their ring finger as a reminder of their wedding date and commitment to one another. Followed, with donuts at a local favorite, Hurt's Donut, for breakfast and then we were off to find her a bouquet. We stopped at Wickman's and immediately were allowed in the back to pick out cut flowers of Erin's choosing. So fun! Next, we stopped at BluSkies Salon, where Erin works to get ready super quickly before heading off to get a few drinks before the ceremony.
When we reached the old, broken down church on a hill, Erin's mom was waiting for us and it was so special to have her there. Following the short-but-sweet vows and kisses they shared their first dance in the warm setting sunlight.
It was a day to remember and one we will forever cherish.
Thanks again for having us.

She is constantly laughing at him. It's pretty fun to be around.
